Hello! I’m Katie! I have been doing DIY Projects for the last 10-ish years, and while I have no professional background or licensing, I’ve always enjoyed the learning process and accomplishing something with my own Two Hands!
In my personal home, I’ve remodeled my basement, renovated my kitchen, master bath, completely torn out and re-landscaped my 1/4 acre suburban lot, and SO MUCH MORE! I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge and skill, and also made my fair share of mistakes!
I was born and raised in Wisconsin, where I remain as a single mom to 3 amazing kiddo’s. My professional background is in Accounting, Finance, and IT. My main passion is gardening, specific perennial landscaping.
I was motivated to start this site because as I would tell people about my DIY Projects, so often I would get the questions, “How do you know how to do that?”, or “Where do you find the time and/or energy?”, or people would simply say “You’re crazy.” I tell them: Why not try to do it myself? I feel there is a time and place for hiring professional contractors, but there is SO MUCH you can do with YOUR OWN Two Hands without hiring an expensive contractor. I have found so much fulfillment creating with my own Two Hands, and now I want to share that experience with you!
My hope is to inspire you to try! There is so much joy in learning to do more things yourself, along with saving money, finding a new exciting hobby, or maybe even a career path! I hope to offer you inspiration and confidence that you CAN do a lot with YOUR Two Hands if you just try!
